Hi!

Welcome to my poetry blog!

I am a twenty-four brown-eyed Aruban wanderer;
forever questioning where I'm going
and where I've been.
And when I'm not reading,
I'm writing. When I'm not writing, I'm reading.

Furthermore, writing has always been my
way of captivating a deep thought, grief,
lost love, depression and even hatred (sometimes).

Feel free to read and comment on my weird,
puzzling, obsessive, reckless and sometimes
confusing poems. It's all about what you
interpret from them that gets me buzzin'!

Thank you and have fun reading y'all.

Intensely Vivid Daydream

Intensely Vivid Daydream

All my new friends
talk like the South,
clothe in Forever 21, speak in riddles.

College campus is cray-cray
and the hazing –traditional
but I love this bald-eagle country.

The hand entwined with
mine, American or Mexican?
I love him heartily –though no Aruba

I wake up from
my intensely vivid daydream
in the arms of blue, white, red.

Though, the wrong one.
The one with Gouda
cheese, red tinted windows, boerenkool but you.

Medium Man

Medium Man

That’s what I do
in my home-made T-shirt;
break bones and lick their sorrow up.

It’s a drug I
cannot decline with ease;
punching soulless boys and watching their sap stream.

Once I deserved to
be more than this;
each evening pondering my mistakes by candlelight.

Sipping my English cup.
pinkies up –sophistication prominent
letting the echoing screams die out –dead

Sweaty Philtrum

Sweaty Philtrum

My ma used to say that there is nothing like
a woman possessing a perspiring brow;
She is hard working or ready to psych
you out! Then my bro would repeat in a row;
‘’A bitch with a sweaty philtrum is a binch
bi-bitch with an itch, ready to take an inch’’
Where my father would beat us with leather ‘cause
there is only submission in his world –buzz.

One Rock

One Rock
You’re annoyed when I’m wanting;
you’re annoyed when I’m indifferent.
I’m but one rock on your island.

I zigzag around you
defying the rules on the sea shore –but
you’re annoyed when I’m wanting.

Maybe tomorrow, if pigs swim
I’ll move my plastic alligator –but
you’re annoyed when I’m indifferent.

So what does it matter anyways –just
don’t worry your pretty little beach sign.
I’m but one rock on your island.

Immigracion

Immigracion

Put a smile on your face,
great with grace.
Carry the past in your eyes.

I walk in and see your hollow soul;
but all I can think is, simply
put a smile on your face.

Your ebony skin gleams dark history;
but you know what, just
great with grace.

Honestly, it all means nothing to me.
Be kind and pass it forward, only
carry the past in your eyes.

Muscles for Brains

Muscles for Brains

Muscles for brains,
but I think I know you,
before you put in the façade.

Contract your ever-lasting pout;
Strengthen your ego in the mirror with;
muscles for brains.

Your friends will laugh;
and roll their eyes;
but I think I know you.

Read me the best poems;
paint me the real you;
before you put in the façade.
